Zelda Eternity Marathon — FINISHED!

Zelda Eternity Marathon

We get many Legend of Zelda marathons here, so it’s hard for us to narrow down which is the biggest or best.  Nonetheless, the team behind this one, who in turn run a popular Legend of Zelda website, think they’ll be able to claim that title this August!

Other: This marathon is going to be massive; possibly the biggest Zelda Marathon ever. The team and I along with a handful of guests, are going to be playing through 12 of the series’ finest creations, as follows:

-The Legend of Zelda
-Zelda II: The Adventure of Link
-A Link to the Past
-Link’s Awakening
-Ocarina of Time
-Majora’s Mask
-Oracle of Seasons
-Oracle of Ages
-The Wind Waker
-Four Swords Adventures*
-The Minish Cap
-Twilight Princess

(*depending on what time we finish The Wind Waker, Four Swords Adventures may have to be moved in the lineup so it can be
played by four people simultaneously)

Of course, I can’t take full credit for this marathon. No, it’s been a collaborative effort from numerous people. Allow me to introduce you to them.

First, there’s Richard (Doublet). Without this guy, I doubt the marathon could have ever gotten off the ground. He’s handled pretty much all the tech stuff for the stream and came up with a good majority of the ideas we’ll be using for the marathon. He’ll be playing through the original Zelda completely by himself, as well as Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages.

Next, there’s Zach. This just plain awesome guy stepped in to join the marathon when we were short handed. While he won’t be doing anything special for the marathon apart from helping to play through the games, without him, completing the marathon would be a whole lot harder.

Then, there’s Torbjorn (Falcool). Our Norweigen chatmaster will be chief moderator for our stream’s chatbox. He’s a big help to us, as without him, we’d probably lose a lot of sleep monitoring the chat ourselves.

Finally, there’s Mike. He’s… Canadian!

…But seriously, Mike will have a similar role to Torbjorn, as he’ll be a mod in our chat, however, when Majora’s Mask comes along, he might just attempt to play through the whole game by himself. A grand undertaking to be sure.

Now, this marathon isn’t just for the sake of having a marathon, no, it’s purpose is much more noble. The marathon’s motive is to persuade people to donate to the NCBF (National Breast Cancer Foundation), a lovely charity with a great purpose in the world. 100% of donations will go to the charity, so any small amount of money helps. You can read about them here:http://www.nationalbreastcancer.org/About-NBCF/

But of course, that’s not all. About halfway through the marathon, we’ll be taking a break from Zelda and switching over to Super Smash Bros. Brawl! During this time, you, the viewing world, can challenge a member of the team to an online match! Yes, you too can experience the joy of battling against my already pretty mediocre Link after I’ve been playing video games for three days straight. Oh fun. Sure, you could challenge another team member, like my friend Richard’s Toon Link, or our chatmaster’s Lucario, but let’s be honest, you know you want to brawl me, right? No? Well crap…

Anyway, that about wraps it up. You can track the marathon’s updates (and watch it, when it rolls around) on www.zeldaeternity.com. Right now, it’s scheduled to begin the sixth of August.
